Pentecost in Schierling

The Schierling Pentecost Volksfest is one of the most traditional Volksfests in the district of Regensburg in Lower Bavaria. The market town of Schierling is located between Regensburg and Landshut in the so-called Labertal valley. Over the Pentecost weekend, the festival grounds transform into a large festival tent district with amusement rides.

Four Festival Days over Pentecost

The 2026 edition runs from May 22nd to 25th: Opening on Pentecost Friday, May 22nd at 6 PM with a beer tapping ceremony by the mayor, followed by dance evenings with Lower Bavarian dance bands. Pentecost Sunday is characterized by concerts, morning pint gatherings (Frühschoppen), and a family program. Pentecost Monday is dedicated to processions by Schierling's clubs, and on Pentecost Monday, May 25th at 10 PM, the Volksfest concludes with a closing evening.

Program Highlights

Highlights include the Children's Afternoon with Punch and Judy shows, the Hoamat'dog on May 19th (12 PM–5 PM) as a prelude, and the Lunchtime Special with the Bayernmusikanten. The clubs, from traditional costume associations to youth clubs, participate with processions and honors.

Beer from the Schierling Specialty Brewery

The brewing partner is the traditional Schierling Specialty Brewery, one of Lower Bavaria's most renowned breweries, known for specialties like Schierlinger Roggen. In the festival tent, freshly tapped Schierling beer flows in liter steins.
