From August 28 to 31, 2026, the town center of Scheßlitz will transform into a four-day festival grounds. The highlight is the grand Kirchweih parade of clubs and guilds on Saturday, with assembly in the early afternoon and the subsequent beer tapping ceremony at the Marienbrunnen, accompanied by the Scheßlitz Music Association. Additionally, there will be football derbies, live music, a festival service at St. Kilian on Sunday, a family afternoon on Monday, and an amusement park in the Schießgraben.

The Scheßlitz Kirchweih, known locally as 'Schäätzer Kerwa', is one of the most famous Kirchweih festivals in the Bamberg district, located at the gateway to Franconian Switzerland. For four days, the town center of Scheßlitz transforms into a single, large festival mile, supported by local clubs, guilds, and restaurateurs.
The Grand Kirchweih Parade
The heart and highlight is the traditional Kirchweih parade on Saturday. The clubs and guilds gather in the early afternoon and march through the town center. This is followed by the official beer tapping ceremony at the Marienbrunnen, accompanied by the Scheßlitz Music Association.
