The Autumn Festival of the Schanzer

Ingolstadt – colloquially known as »die Schanz« (the fortress) after its baroque fortifications – celebrates its Volksfest twice a year: at Pentecost and in autumn. The Schanzer Herbstvolksfest marks the autumn highlight and takes place on the Volksfestplatz at Dreizehnerstraße. Ingolstadt is a district-free city in the state of Bavaria on the Danube.

Festival Tents and Hospitality

The heart of the festival are the tents offering Bavarian hospitality and culinary highlights. Two beer tents provide a traditional atmosphere with brass music and modern entertainment – a meeting point for families, groups of friends, and associations.

Rides and Market

A varied amusement park with constantly changing rides and attractions offers thrills and fun for all age groups. The festival is complemented by a large market selling household goods and fashion jewelry, inviting visitors for a stroll. The organizers promise »a mix of new attractions and popular classics« every year.

As a fixed date in the Ingolstadt event calendar, the Herbstvolksfest attracts visitors from the entire region. It combines Volksfest tradition with family-friendliness and is one of the social highlights of autumn in Ingolstadt.
