District festival of Bochum's Günnigfeld district at the Wichernhaus — Spring kickoff from 11 am
When spring arrives in western Bochum after Easter, the Günnigfeld district invites you to its spring festival: On April 25, 2026, from 11 am, clubs, residents, and families will gather at and in the Wichernhaus (Parkallee 20). The organizer is the Günnigfeld Network, which brings together clubs, church groups, and district initiatives. Also participating is BSV St. Hubertus, one of the traditional district clubs.
The spring festival follows the classic district concept: food and drink from participating clubs (sausages, cakes, coffee, beverages), a live program with local musicians or club performances, family activities for children, and above all, the social function of a neighborhood meeting point. Newcomers to the district can get to know their neighbors here.
The Wichernhaus at Parkallee 20 is an evangelical community center and has been the central venue in the district for decades. The spring festival uses both the interior spaces (hall, foyer) and the outdoor areas (garden, forecourt), creating an event that is independent of the weather, offering an outdoor atmosphere in good weather and indoor retreat in case of rain.
Günnigfeld is a smaller district in western Bochum in North Rhine-Westphalia, directly on the border with Wattenscheid. Until its incorporation in 1929, Günnigfeld was independent — and this identity is maintained in the district's life. The spring festival is one of the annual anchoring events through which the district clubs renew their existence and networking.
The 2026 spring festival starts on Saturday, April 25, at 11 am at Wichernhaus Parkallee 20. The organizer is the Günnigfeld Network, which brings together clubs, the community, and district initiatives. An accessible format with club stalls and family activities.
Free admission. Consumption at the club stalls is subject to a charge — proceeds benefit the participating clubs.
Take bus line 363 from Bochum or Wattenscheid to Günnigfeld. By car via the A40 (Wattenscheid exit). Parking available on Parkallee and surrounding streets.

The festival is very accessible — ideal for families with small children. Lunchtime is the busiest period; it gets quieter in the afternoon.
