A Krefeld Cycling Institution
Since 1978, RV Staubwolke 09 Fischeln e.V. has been organizing the 'Rund in Fischeln' cycling race. What began as a district race in 1978 is now one of the most important cycling events in NRW – not least because the NRW Championship is integrated in 2026. The 48th edition on April 26, 2026, promises high speeds, large fields, and an enthusiastic crowd at the trackside.
The Circuit: 1.35 km, Seven Turns
The circuit through the streets of Krefeld-Fischeln is 1.35 km long and has seven turns. This technically demanding course requires constant concentration from the riders and is also spectator-friendly, as the field passes the same point multiple times per lap.
Amateur Race over 28 km
The amateur race over 28 km is open to the wider cycling community. Hobby riders, club members, and ambitious amateur athletes participate – an experience that goes far beyond pure competition.
NRW Championship 2026
The highlight is the NRW Championship, integrated into the race day. The best cyclists from North Rhine-Westphalia compete for the state championship title. For spectators, it's top-class cycling spectacle; for the athletes, it's an important season goal.
Race Day from Early to Late
The race day begins at 6:30 AM and runs until 9:00 PM. Different age groups compete in start waves, from Fat-Bike children to youth classes and the elite. Between races, there is catering, a club station, and live commentary.

The volunteer helpers, led by Felix Linders – the club's spokesperson – ensure professional execution with the highest safety standards year after year.
Fischeln – Krefeld's Southwestern District
Krefeld-Fischeln is located in the southwest of the city, bordering the Lower Rhine region. With its quiet residential streets and manageable town center, Fischeln is ideal for a cycling race: residents are supportive, the city closes the streets for a day, and a unique mix of district festival and high-performance sport emerges.
Rund in Fischeln — edition 2026
The 48th edition in 2026 brings a top-class lineup of competitions: the first school classes start early in the morning, followed by youth classes, amateur races, the 28 km amateur race, and finally the elite NRW Championship. The course is technically demanding, with seven turns over a length of 1.35 km.
Organizer RV Staubwolke 09 Fischeln expects several hundred participants and thousands of spectators at the trackside again. Live commentary, catering, and a club festival accompany the race day.

Getting There
Take tram 042 or 044 from Krefeld Hbf to Krefeld-Fischeln. By car, take the A57 (Krefeld-Fichteln exit). Please note: Road closures around the circuit during race days.
