Family carnival on the street in the Bad Kreuznach district of Planig
The carnival club Die Lustigen Schuppesser 1936 Planig e.V. is the organizer of the organized Fastnacht (carnival) in the Bad Kreuznach district of Planig. As the name suggests, the club looks back on a tradition dating back to 1936, which is maintained voluntarily by the club members. The club name alludes to a local humorous tradition that is firmly anchored in Planig's carnival culture.
While the major Fastnacht parades in Bad Kreuznach city center focus on political and commercial parade entries, the Planig Rosenmontagsumzug emphasizes family carnival. Club groups, schools, kindergartens, friendly carnival clubs, and costumed families make up the procession. The atmosphere is personal, and the audience consists of residents of Planig and the neighboring districts.
The Nahetalhalle in Rheinpfalzstraße is the central venue for Planig's Rose Monday. The parade starts here at 2:11 PM, the classic carnival time in the Rhineland Fastnacht. The route leads through the district of Planig and ends back in the area of the Nahetalhalle, where the day concludes with further programming.
The Rosenmontagsumzug is the highlight of the Planig carnival campaign, which begins in January with galas and concludes on Rose Monday. Candies, Kamelle (sweets), Berliner Pfannkuchen (doughnuts), mulled wine, and good spirits are part of the day, as are the traditional Helau and Alaaf of the Palatinate and Rhenish carnival-goers.
The 2026 Planig Rosenmontagsumzug continues the tradition of community-supported family carnival. Club groups, schools, kindergartens, and costumed families create the procession. Afterwards, the day concludes at the Nahetalhalle with further programming.
The complete 2026 program, including participating parade entries, will be published by Die Lustigen Schuppesser in advance of the event. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
