The Palatinate Band and Choir Festival is part of the Palatinate Church Music Festival Days 2026, a major church music event organized by the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate. The aim is to provide a professional stage for the musical diversity of church communities and church-affiliated ensembles. On a single-day event, twelve ensembles of various styles gather in Landau's Stiftskirche – a unique concept that celebrates diversity and fosters encounters.

The Stiftskirche, located in the heart of Landau, is one of the most important Gothic churches in the Palatinate. Its high choir space, acoustic quality, and impressive volume make it an ideal concert venue – not only for classical sacred music but also for big bands, pop choirs, and band formations. For the festival, a professional stage with a grand piano, sound system, and lighting will be set up, allowing all ensembles to perform under optimal conditions.
Program and Styles
The twelve ensembles cover a broad stylistic range: big band sound, gospel choirs, pop vocal ensembles, sacred music, jazz, worship bands, and wind ensembles. The festival opens at 2 PM with the NeW Brass Big Band from Neustadt-Mußbach. The closing act at 8:30 PM will be Chris Lass and Ensemble. Alexandra Dietz will host and ensure a smooth program flow between performances. Each set lasts approximately 30 minutes, allowing visitors to experience the festival in stages.
Atmosphere and Admission
Admission is free. A collection at the exit will support church music and the festival days. The atmosphere is open, intergenerational, and community-building – the festival invites you to wander from set to set, enjoy a coffee in between, or simply sit on a bench in the Stiftskirche and listen to new musical impressions.
