Shooting tradition in the double district — May 2nd and 3rd, 2026
The districts of Boye and Jeversen belong to the city of Celle and have shared a common shooting community for a long time. Like many Celle districts, Boye and Jeversen have preserved their village identity and maintain their own clubs — the shooting association is the most defining of these. The annual Schützenfest brings the two districts together for a joint weekend.
With the date on May 2nd and 3rd, 2026, Boye/Jeversen is among the earliest Schützenfeste of the season in the Celle district. In April, king's shooting events primarily take place; the first major Schützenfeste open the season at the beginning of May. Boye/Jeversen is one of these opening dates, particularly appreciated by regular attendees and friendly clubs.
The festival is designed for two days — more compact than the four-day major Schützenfeste, but with the full spectrum of traditional program points. Saturday: Festival opening, king's shooting, festival ball in the marquee. Sunday: Festival parade through the districts of Boye and Jeversen, proclamation of the new king and queen, morning pint to round off the festivities.
The Celle district has one of the densest shooting club structures in Germany. From farmer shooters to traditional city clubs, from villages to the district town — there is hardly a weekend from May to September without a Schützenfest. The Celle District Shooting Association (KSV) coordinates the events. Boye/Jeversen fits into this calendar as a small, charming village Schützenfest at the start of the season.
The detailed program for 2026 will be published by the shooting association in advance. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
Boye/Jeversen, northern Celle districts. By car via the B 3 (Celle–Soltau). Parking is available at the festival grounds and in the surrounding streets.
Admission fees for dance evenings apply on-site. The festival parade and morning pint are freely accessible.
As a season-opening Schützenfest, it is particularly suitable for shooting enthusiasts who want to start the year with a traditional festival weekend.
