Fischeln Beats — the stylish spring finale

The Krefeld district of Fischeln has its own festival culture — not a traditional Kirmes (funfair), but a contemporary mix of evening market, district festival, and open-air party. Fischeln Beats is the grand closing party of the spring edition of the Fischelner Abendmarkt and, at the same time, the counterpart to the well-known Fischeln Open weekend in September. 2026: Saturday, May 30, 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Venue: the Rathausgarten Fischeln, Hafelsstraße 16, 47807 Krefeld. The organizer is the Werbering Fischeln, the local business association of Fischeln merchants.

Rathausgarten Fischeln — A backdrop with identity

The Rathausgarten is the heart of the Krefeld district of Fischeln. The historic town hall (the former seat of the formerly independent municipality of Fischeln, now an administrative branch of the city of Krefeld) frames a small, park-like garden — the natural festival arena of the district. Hafelsstraße is centrally located in the district, all paths are short, and the Rathausgarten is also clearly visible from the main traffic artery. This compact backdrop makes Fischeln Beats a dense, urban open-air event.

Format — Market meets Party

Fischeln Beats combines two concepts:

• Evening Market with stalls for crafts (local manufactories, woodwork, jewelry), creative accessories (fashion, bags, jewelry), and gastronomy (street food, wine, cocktails). The market is curated — the Werbering selects the exhibitors to ensure a certain quality standard.
• DJ Party with house, electronic music, and entertaining sound that escalates the market character into a party atmosphere. The later it gets, the more beats, the less market browsing.

This hybrid architecture distinguishes Fischeln Beats from a classic Kirmes and makes it the declared spring highlight for the younger district population.

Werbering Fischeln and the entire festival year

The Werbering Fischeln organizes several events throughout the year: the Fischelner Abendmarkt (spring series, several Thursdays), Fischeln Beats as the closing event of the spring series (end of May), Fischeln Open in September (two-day major district open-air with concerts and Sunday shopping), and smaller events in winter (Christmas market, Sundays with shopping). This annual structure makes the district one of Krefeld's liveliest areas and strengthens local retail.
