Folk Hiking in the Upper Franconian Hills

The Rugendorf Panorama Hike is an official DVV Folk Hiking Day, organized by the Feldbuch hiking group and surroundings 1983 e.V. Folk hiking days of this kind are a long tradition in Bavaria and Germany: organized hikes over fixed distances, with stamping points, catering along the route, and a central meeting point – in Rugendorf, the Feldbuch hall.

5 or 10 Kilometers with a View

The program includes two distances, 5 and 10 kilometers, through the Upper Franconian hilly landscape north of the Franconian Line. The routes are designed so that at certain heights, a view opens up to the Frankenwald and the Fichtelgebirge, with a sightline to the Ochsenkopf. The shorter route is designated as accessible, and there is also a separate children's and youth hike.

Rugendorf in the Kulmbach District

Rugendorf is a municipality in the Upper Franconian district of Kulmbach, north of the district town and at the intersection between Frankenwald, Fränkische Schweiz, and Fichtelgebirge. The hilly landscape shapes the area and makes the town a welcome starting point for hiking events. The Feldbuch hiking group has been offering its folk hiking day in this region for years and is a classic representative of the Bavarian DVV hiking day scene.
