Traditional Lower Bavarian Volksfest in Pfarrkirchen — heated marquee, live bands, large amusement park, free admission
Pfarrkirchen is the district town of the Rottal-Inn district in the Bavarian administrative district of Lower Bavaria, located in the fertile Rottal valley. The Rottaler Volksfest is its major spring Volksfest and a firm fixture in the Lower Bavarian festival calendar — traditional, family-friendly, and known beyond the region.
The organizer and festival host is the Dadlhuber family. Under the motto “Tradition meets conviviality,” they invite you into a cozy, heated marquee — important for a Volksfest in April. Festive music, Lower Bavarian specialties, and a cocktail bar ensure a great atmosphere; reserved guests and spontaneous visitors are equally welcome.
On festival evenings, live bands perform — from traditional brass music and party music to traditional costume parties (in previous years, for example, “Wilde Nacht in Tracht” with the band Wolfsegger or Saso Avsenik & his Oberkrainer).
During the day, there is the Mittagsrenner (midday special) with special offers, and the Tag des Ehrenamtes (Day of Volunteering) on Wednesday honors voluntary engagement. In addition to the marquee, the amusement park attracts visitors: bumper cars, chain carousel, Break Dance, Bayerisches Hupferl, Crazy Ball, carousels, and numerous children's rides. Paved parking spaces and a taxi stand make arrival easier.
Pfarrkirchen is scenically located in the Rottal valley between the Inn and Vils rivers. The Rottaler Volksfest is an expression of the vibrant Lower Bavarian Volksfest culture and a tourist attraction for the entire region. Admission is free on all days.
The Rottaler Volksfest 2026 has been confirmed by the Dadlhuber festival family for April 8 to 12, 2026. In the heated marquee at the Volksfestplatz (P+R facility, St.-Rémy-Platz 3), live bands, festive music, and Lower Bavarian specialties will ensure a great atmosphere. In addition, there is a large amusement park with rides, a midday special, and the Tag des Ehrenamtes (Day of Volunteering) on Wednesday. Admission is free on all days, and table reservations are free of charge.
