A classic Berlin flea market takes place on Saturday or Sunday mornings in a square or vacant lot. The Rooftop Night Flea Market at Gesundbrunnen-Center breaks all three conventions: it takes place on the rooftop of a shopping mall, runs in the evening until night (5 PM–10 PM), and combines classic flea market stalls with a street food festival.

The Concept

The organizers explicitly stage the market as an evening and night experience, not a daytime event. This has two advantages: firstly, it utilizes an urban space (parking deck) that otherwise only functions during the day; secondly, it sets the market apart from Berlin's many daytime flea markets. Live DJs, subdued lighting, a row of food trucks — the setting is more pop-up festival than classic flea market.

Gesundbrunnen and Wedding

Gesundbrunnen is a district in the borough of Mitte, bordering Wedding — historically a working-class quarter, today a mixed Berlin microcosm of prefab buildings, old buildings, and new residents. The Gesundbrunnen Center at Gesundbrunnen station is one of the central shopping locations in the north — the S+U station directly below makes the market perfectly accessible.

When and How Often

The market takes place several times a year — typically in spring, summer, and autumn. It pauses in winter due to the weather on the open roof. One of the first editions in 2026 runs on March 13th and 14th.
