Regional Cultural Days 2026 — Culture in the Nordeifel

From March 20 to June 20, 2026, the StädteRegion Aachen brings the Regional Cultural Days to the Nordeifel. Three Eifel municipalities — Simmerath, Roetgen, and Monschau — are jointly participating in a three-month festival with over 20 events. The Simmerath contribution takes place at four different venues and brings readings, concerts, and family programs to the rural area.

• April 24, 2026 — Reading with Reinhold Beckmann at Lammersdorf Parish Hall (Journalist, presenter, singer)
• April 25, 2026 — Magic for Children at Saal Hütten
• May 22, 2026 — Euregio Chamber Orchestra with “Carnival of the Animals” at the Protestant Church Roetgen (joint event with Roetgen)
• April 2026 — Concert by the Lammersdorf Church Choir

National and International Artists

The festival presents national and international artists, including jazz ensembles and singer-songwriters. The program also includes children's concerts, workshops, and crime readings — a balanced mix of high culture, family offerings, and popular formats.

Tickets and Culture Voucher

Tickets are available from January 26, 2026, 12 PM via the website of the StädteRegion Aachen. The standard price is €15 plus fees; some events are free. The Kulturtafel (culture voucher) provides people with limited budgets free access to the events.

Simmerath — Municipality in the Nordeifel

The municipality of Simmerath (around 16,000 inhabitants) is located in the StädteRegion Aachen (North Rhine-Westphalia), in the middle of the Nordeifel on a plateau between 500 and 600 meters above sea level. With its districts Lammersdorf, Kesternich, Steckenborn, Strauch, and others, it covers an area with agricultural traditions, winter sports opportunities, and close ties to the Eifel National Park. The 2026 Cultural Days bring urban cultural offerings to this rural highland — a deliberate regional enhancement.
