Europe's most important club and music business festival
Since 2006, the Reeperbahn Festival has transformed Hamburg's Kiez into one large stage every year in mid-September. Instead of a classic festival site, it takes over all usable spaces in and around the Reeperbahn: the clubs of Spielbudenplatz, the Molotow cave, the Mojo Club, Uebel & Gefährlich, Knust, Gruenspan, Operettenhaus, Astra Stube, Häkken – plus the Elbphilharmonie, the main church St. Michaelis, and indoor industrial spaces like Fliegende Bauten or Bar 227. More than 600 concerts are scheduled each year, played in often small, sold-out venues where the audience experiences the acts up close.
The Reeperbahn Festival is not just a concert marathon, but also an Arts & Words festival – readings, podcasts, theater, visual arts, dance – and at the same time Germany's most important music business conference. During the day, label bosses, bookers, streaming managers, artist agencies, and journalists meet for panels, workshops, and networking sessions; in the evening, everyone heads to the clubs. This dual nature – a showcase for the industry and a live experience for the audience – defines the Reeperbahn character: international careers are concretely boosted here.
The Festival Village is set up on Spielbudenplatz every year – freely accessible, with an outdoor stage, food trucks, and pop-up bars. Those without a festival ticket can celebrate here for free and drop in on the free programs during the day. Sustainability and diversity are central concerns of the festival: through the Keychange partnership, gender parity in the lineup has been a program since years, and an awareness team with its own hotline is available throughout the festival.
As every year, the Reeperbahn Festival releases its lineup in several waves. First confirmed acts for the 2026 edition: Fat Dog, Pale Waves, Chinese American Bear, New Constellations, Madra Salach, Maria Iskariot, and She Her Her Hers. The full lineup is traditionally expanded shortly before the festival begins; the majority of newcomers will be announced in late summer.
The festival once again utilizes the full spectrum from intimate clubs to concert cathedrals: clubs along the Reeperbahn (Molotow, Mojo, Uebel & Gefährlich, Knust, Gruenspan, Häkken, Astra Stube), the Operettenhaus, the Elbphilharmonie for acts suitable for seated concerts, the main church St. Michaelis, plus Spielbudenplatz and the Festival Village. For the first time in 2026, greater focus will be placed on spoken word, readings, podcasts, dance, and installations under the label Arts & Words.
Seated concerts with sophisticated acts in the Elbphilharmonie, sacred concerts in the Hauptkirche St. Michaelis, classic indie venues like Mojo Club, Molotow, and Uebel & Gefährlich. Detailed program and slot schedules will be published from August onwards at reeperbahnfestival.com.
