Since 2003 — Loud Against Racism
The Rage Against Racism Open Air Festival is one of Germany's most traditional politically engaged metal festivals. Since 2003, the volunteer-organized festival annually stands "clearly against racism, hate, and discrimination" and offers a platform for bands and audiences that has become increasingly important in recent years.
21st Edition 2026 — June 5th and 6th
The 21st edition will take place on June 5th and 6th, 2026, on the forecourt of JZ Mühle „Die Mühle“ at Clarenbachstraße 14, Duisburg-Rheinhausen. The festival is connected to the youth work of the adjacent social institutions and explicitly sees itself as part of the local anti-fascist and anti-racist culture.
Line-up 2026 — Metal, Death Metal, Punk, Rock
The 2026 line-up is a strong mix of international headliners and the German underground scene:

Free Entry — Pay-what-you-want
The festival follows a consistent Pay-what-you-want principle: Entry is free, donations go directly towards the festival's continued existence and anti-racist projects. This keeps the festival accessible even for people with little money — a political value in itself.
Mission: Against the Rightward Shift — Celebrating Diversity
The organizers clearly state their mission: "loud against the rightward shift in Germany" and for diversity in urban society. The festival is closely integrated with the youth work of JZ Mühle and stands for a local cultural policy that combines social inclusion with musical quality.
Duisburg-Rheinhausen — A District with History
Rheinhausen is located on the left bank of the Rhine in Duisburg in the Ruhr area, North Rhine-Westphalia. The district is characterized by its industrial history (formerly Krupp steelworks, which was the scene of spectacular labor disputes in the 1980s) and a diverse, multicultural population. This is precisely where the festival finds its fitting location.
