Pyro Games — Competition of Pyrotechnicians

The Pyro Games are among the most widespread fireworks festivals in Germany and are a competition between leading professional pyrotechnics companies. The concept is unique: three teams present their choreographies of fireworks, music, and light one after another, with the audience voting for their favorite by voting card or SMS at the end. Event dates are spread across several major German cities and parks – Magdeburg has been one of the tour's permanent locations for years.

In the Elbauenpark Magdeburg

The venue is the Elbauenpark Magdeburg on the island between the Elbe and the city center – the former Federal Garden Show site (1999), now a public park and event location. The wide meadow, the Jahrtausendturm observation tower, the stage facilities, and the unobstructed sightlines make the park an acoustically and visually ideal setting for a fireworks spectacle. Magdeburg is the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt; the Elbauenpark is one of its most important event locations.

Program Schedule

Admission on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. On the main stage, there will be a supporting program with music acts and a laser show, along with food stalls, bars, and drink stands. As darkness falls, the three competition fireworks begin, each synchronized to music and completely illuminated choreographically. Afterwards, audience voting and announcement of the winner.

Family-Friendly, Safe

The Pyro Games are designed as a family-friendly event. Seating in the front zone is partly reserved, with wide lawn areas behind it offering free seating choice (blankets recommended). Safety distances to the launch area are maintained and monitored by the organizer.
