NENA Open Air in Elbauenpark Magdeburg
When NENA takes the stage, over four decades of pop history come along. "99 Luftballons", "Leuchtturm", "Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann", "Wunder gescheh'n" — songs that have shaped generations. In the summer of 2026, the band will stop in Magdeburg, the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt, on their tour, playing an open-air concert on September 5, 2026, at the MDCC-Parkbühne in Elbauenpark.
The show is part of an extensive tour that has taken NENA through 15 European countries after their successful "WIR GEHÖREN ZUSAMMEN" tour. NENA herself announces the concert with the words: "We are going on a journey through over 40 years of Nena music together again." In addition, there are potential premieres of new songs — the artist is currently working on fresh material in the studio.
MDCC-Parkbühne — Open-Air Concerts in Elbauenpark
The Elbauenpark was created in 1999 as the site of the Federal Garden Exhibition (Bundesgartenschau) and is now one of the largest inner-city park areas in Saxony-Anhalt, covering around 100 hectares. In the middle lies the MDCC-Parkbühne, an open-air concert arena with a view of the Millennium Tower and the buildings from the former BUGA. In the summer, it is the venue for major open-air concerts — from German rock legends and international pop acts to Schlager stars.
Magdeburg — A City with a Festival Summer
Magdeburg on the Elbe is the capital of the independent city in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. Throughout the year, several major concerts and festivals take place here — from the Kaiser-Otto-Fest and the Magdeburg Cathedral Festival to Fête de la Musique. The NENA concert fits into a summer that opens the city to German-language pop music.
