Public Viewing in Stuttgart's Summer 2026
From June 11 to July 19, 2026, the FIFA World Cup will take place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico – the first World Cup with 48 teams and thus also the longest tournament in history. While football fans gather in public viewing areas across Germany, the Augustiner Biergarten at the Kursaal Bad Cannstatt offers one of Stuttgart's most atmospheric public viewings: a beer garden over 140 years old right at the entrance to the Kurpark, combined with large screens, Augustiner beer, and Bavarian-Swabian cuisine.
Historic Beer Garden with Modern Technology
The beer garden and restaurant Kursaal Gastronomie have existed since around 1880 and are among Stuttgart's largest and most traditional beer gardens. Shady chestnut trees, long wooden beer tables, and the view of the Kurpark Bad Cannstatt provide a special setting for the 2026 public viewing. All World Cup matches will be broadcast during regular opening hours – daily from 12 p.m. in good weather.
Culinary Delights from Two Worlds
- Augustiner beer on tap (Augustiner-Bräu Munich)
- Classic Bavarian specialties: pork knuckle, pretzels, white sausage
- Swabian specialties: Maultaschen, Kässpätzle, lentils with Spätzle
- Flammkuchen, burgers, and vegetarian options
- Wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks
Stuttgart as a Football Hub
Stuttgart is not only home to VfB Stuttgart – the city is also traditionally an important location for public viewing. For the 2026 World Cup, public viewing will be spread across the entire city: from the Mercedes-Benz Museum with its open-air stage (up to 1,000 spectators, free admission) to Schlossplatz and the beer gardens in Bad Cannstatt. The Augustiner Biergarten, thanks to its central location and traditional Bavarian-Swabian atmosphere, is particularly popular with families and regulars.
Bad Cannstatt — Historic Stuttgart
The district of Bad Cannstatt (state capital Stuttgart, state of Baden-Württemberg) is one of Stuttgart's oldest settlements. The spa park with its mineral springs, the Cannstatter Wasen (home of the Volksfest), and the historic old town make the district a popular tourist area. Visitors to the public viewing can combine their day with a walk in the Kurpark or a visit to the Wilhelma Zoo (~15 min. walk).
