Schützenfest Emlichheim (BSV)

Promoting – Strengthening – Preserving Village Community

The motto of the Bürgerschützenverein Emlichheim perfectly captures what the summer festival achieves: it is a means to nurture, strengthen, and pass on the village community across generations. Thus, the festival is more than just a Volksfest (people's festival); it is lived club culture.

Schützenhaus on Emslandstraße

The Schützenhaus on Emslandstraße in Emlichheim is the permanent festival venue. With a marquee, shooting range, catering area, and meadow, it provides the setting for several hundred members and guests.

Several Days in July

The festival spans several days. In 2025, it ran from July 17th to 21st, approximately five days from Thursday to Monday. A similar configuration is expected for 2026, but this must be confirmed with the club.

Bird Shooting, King, King's Dinner

As with other Schützenfeste in the Grafschaft Bentheim region, the bird shooting is the central competition from which the new Schützenkönig (shooting king) emerges. The proclamation of the king, the king's dinner in the evening, the parade, a dance evening with live music, and Frühschoppen complete the proceedings.

Summer in Shooting Club Life

The BSV summer festival is the highlight of the club's calendar. Shooters from neighboring clubs and clubs from the Netherlands often attend the festival, bringing a cross-border dimension that is typical for the Niedergrafschaft region.
