Three-day park festival in the East German Rose Garden with Tom Gaebel, Tim Bendzko, Olaf Berger and Night of 1000 Lights
The East German Rose Garden in Forst (Lausitz) — created in 1913 — is one of the largest rose park complexes in Germany. With its approximately 40,000 rose bushes in over 1,000 varieties, the historic Wehrinselpark, and the Mühlteich pond, it forms a unique setting for a park festival. From June 12th to 14th, 2026, it will open its gates for the Rosengartenfesttage — one of the largest summer festivals in the Lower Lusatia.
Friday, June 12th, 2026, Tom Gaebel & His Orchestra will open with their "Kleiner Junge, Große Reise" tour — big band and swing setting the festival rhythm. Saturday, June 13th, Tim Bendzko will perform as the main act of Saturday evening, as part of his tour for the new album "Alles, nur nicht zurück" (release January 23rd, 2026). Saturday is also the anniversary evening for Stadtwerke Forst GmbH, celebrating its 35th anniversary. Sunday, June 14th, Olaf Berger will close the festival with 40 years of "Es brennt wie Feuer" — Schlager classics in a new arrangement.
In addition to the stage program, other events will shape the weekend: the cut rose show with hand-picked varieties, guided park tours through the rose grounds, a family day with children's program, the Night of 1000 Lights as an atmospheric highlight of one evening, and a laser music show. The festival thus combines musical headliners with the park show traditions for which the Forst Rose Garden is regionally known.
Tickets are available from €12 (children up to 12 years free). The season pass for the entire 2026 rose garden season costs €45 (concession) or €50 (regular) — available until the end of April. Online sales are via forst-lausitz.shop.koronaevent.de.
Forst (Lausitz) is a twin town — the German part is in the Spree-Neiße district, the Polish part (Zasieki) belongs to the Lubusz Voivodeship. Both towns are separated by the Neisse river, which forms the border. With the Rosengartenfesttage, Forst positions itself as a cultural center of the eastern Lower Lusatia — a festival that combines rose horticulture tradition with contemporary popular music culture.
The 2026 edition is broadly positioned both musically and in terms of park culture. Over three days, two stages will be used — the main stage in Wehrinselpark and a side stage in the Rose Garden. Headliners are Tom Gaebel (Friday, Swing/Big Band), Tim Bendzko (Saturday, Pop), and Olaf Berger (Sunday, Schlager).
Saturday evening is also the anniversary evening for Stadtwerke Forst GmbH, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2026. Accompanying the stage program are park tours, the cut rose show, a family day, and in the evening, the Night of 1000 Lights with a laser music show.
