Wine directly on the Main

Wipfeld, a small winegrowing community on the Main in the district of Schweinfurt, is known for its Franconian wines. Once a year, the town celebrates the Promenadenweinfest directly on the banks of the Main – on the newly designed riverside promenade, which gives the festival its name. The organizer is the Närrische Vereinigung Wipfeld, a local association that organizes the festival with a great deal of volunteer commitment.

The Promenadenweinfest stands for summery lightness: Franconian wine from the region's vineyards, live music, and a touch of Mediterranean flair right by the water. The idyllic location on the river is its special charm – balmy summer evenings with a view of the Main, wine glasses in hand, and a relaxed atmosphere.

The focus is on the Franconian wines from the surrounding wineries. Wipfeld is located in the Mainfranken wine region, whose steep slopes are known for their distinctive wines. With its special location and convivial character, the Promenadenweinfest has become a firm fixture in the Franconian wine festival calendar. In addition to the Promenadenweinfest in June, Wipfeld also celebrates the street wine festival of the Music and Winegrowers' Association in August – wine culture shapes the village throughout the summer.
