Advent Market in a Baroque Castle
Schillingsfürst is a town in the Middle Franconian district of Ansbach, primarily known for the baroque Schloss Schillingsfürst, the ancestral seat of the Princely House of Hohenlohe-Schillingsfürst. The Princely Christmas Market takes place annually on the first weekend of Advent in the castle courtyard, combining Christmas market activities with the unique backdrop of a baroque noble residence.

The special highlight of the market is its opening by the golden-clad Christkind, who proclaims its heavenly message from the castle balcony — the highest point in Middle Franconia. The 2026 edition will take place on the first Advent weekend as usual. The castle courtyard will transform into a Christmas market with stalls for arts and crafts and handmade Christmas gifts; food stalls will offer waffles, bratwurst, and mulled wine. Regional artists will provide the musical entertainment program.
