Village festival by the water

Körprich belongs to the municipality of Nalbach in the Saarlouis district and lies nestled between hills and the Prims, one of the characteristic rivers of Saarland. The Primsuferfest uses this scenic backdrop: instead of celebrating in a marquee or on a car park, the festival takes place on the meadows along the river, with a view of the water and the opposite bank.

The date is traditionally at the end of June or the beginning of July, often in conjunction with the Kirmes St. Peter und Paul (patron saint's festival) in Körprich. Those who combine both dates experience a double weekend with a church patron saint's festival and a secular riverbank festival in a typical Saarland village format.

Nalbacher Tal

As a district of Nalbach, Körprich is part of the Nalbacher Tal, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Saarlouis district. The Prims flows here through a landscape of meadows, forests, and hills that invite hiking and cycling – the nearby Litermont observation tower offers a panoramic view of the entire valley. Visitors to the festival often combine it with a walk or a bike ride.

Club life in a Saarland village

As with many Saarland village festivals, the Primsuferfest finances the work of local clubs – from sports clubs and music clubs to the fire brigade.
