Handcrafted ceramics in an Oderbruch village
The Pottery Market Groß Neuendorf is one of Brandenburg's younger but already established ceramics markets. It is organized by Sonnenschein Keramik, a ceramics workshop from Dresden, in cooperation with the municipality of Letschin. The venue is the Oderbruch village of Groß Neuendorf — a district of Letschin in the Märkisch-Oderland district, directly on the western edge of the fertile lowlands between the Oderbruch escarpment and the Oder River.
On May 30 and 31, 2026, Alte Dorfstraße will transform into an open exhibition mile. Potters and ceramic artists from Brandenburg, Berlin, and Saxony — many of them members of the Berlin-Brandenburg Pottery Guild — will present their works: tableware for the kitchen and dining room, vases, sculptures, garden objects, waterspouts, hand-formed bowls, and experimental pieces. The market's character is intentionally kept small and personal: you can talk directly with the potters, ask questions about firing techniques, glazes, and clays, and often watch them work at the potter's wheel.
Groß Neuendorf is located on the western edge of the Oderbruch, one of Brandenburg's most spectacular cultural landscapes. The village has a well-preserved appearance — brick farmhouses, a small village church, a former school. During the summer months, it is a popular destination for Berliners exploring the Oderbruch by bike. The pottery market fits into this tradition: it brings culture to the rural idyll without disrupting the village character.
The market is held annually at the end of May or beginning of June and is now a firm fixture in the region's pottery market calendar. For collectors and lovers of handmade ceramics, it is an important address — the mix of Brandenburg local color, the Berlin avant-garde scene, and Saxon tradition makes the offering diverse.
A visit is worthwhile not only for the ceramics. In the early summer, the Oderbruch offers blooming orchards, stork nests, vast fields, and one of Brandenburg's most beautiful cycling routes — the Oder-Neiße Cycle Route. Combine your market visit with a day trip into the Bruch.
On Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 10 AM to 6 PM daily, the Pottery Market Groß Neuendorf invites you to the village of the same name in the Oderbruch (a district of the municipality of Letschin).
The list of participating potteries will be published before the market on letschin.de and sonnenschein-keramik.de. Experience shows that 20–30 workshops are usually represented.

Come by bike — the last few kilometers through the Oderbruch are the most scenic part of the journey. Allow time for conversations with the potters: many pieces become small but significant additions to your collection when you know the story behind them.
