About Weinfest Pleisweiler 2026

Pleisweiler-Oberhofen celebrates its traditional wine festival in the twin village at the foot of the Palatinate Forest from October 9th to 11th, 2026. In October, Federweißer (a young, partially fermented wine) is traditionally the focus – the freshly fermenting must from the current grape harvest, which is only served for a few weeks a year. It is accompanied by the classic wines of the Pleisweiler and Oberhofen vintners, Palatinate specialties, and a convivial festival program. The festival is an important date in the series of autumn wine festivals along the Südliche Weinstraße (Southern Wine Route).

The Pleisweiler-Oberhofen Wine Festival is a classic autumn wine festival on the Südliche Weinstraße. It traditionally takes place on the second weekend of October in the twin village, which originated from the originally separate communities of Pleisweiler and Oberhofen. Both parts of the village have been associated with viticulture for centuries and today form a local municipality at the foot of the Pfälzerwald, not far from the famous vineyard site Kastanienbusch.

Federweißer and More

The focus of the festival – in addition to the wine served by local vintners – is Federweißer. During this short period between harvest and the completion of fermentation, the cloudy, slightly sparkling must is particularly sought after, traditionally served with Zwiebelkuchen (onion tart) or Flammkuchen (a type of flatbread). Typical Palatinate white and red wines are also served: Riesling, Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc), Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), and Sankt Laurent.

Palatinate Gastronomy

Clubs and local restaurateurs treat guests to hearty Palatinate classics: Saumagen (pig's stomach stuffed with pork, bread, and spices), Leberknödel (liver dumplings), Bratwurst (fried sausage), and Dampfnudeln (sweet steamed buns). The combination of young wines and autumn cuisine makes the festival particularly appealing.

Twin Village with Wine Tradition

Pleisweiler-Oberhofen is located in the immediate vicinity of Bad Bergzabern, Klingenmünster, and Gleiszellen-Gleishorbach. The surrounding vineyards produce top-quality wines that regularly win awards in competitions. Particularly well-known is the Pleisweiler Hölle site, named after a historical steep slope.

The wine festival offers visitors the opportunity to experience these vineyards directly at their origin.

Weinfest Pleisweiler 2026 — edition 2026

From October 9th to 11th, 2026, the municipality of Pleisweiler-Oberhofen invites you to the traditional wine festival in the twin village. For three days, Federweißer and wine from local vintners will be served in the village center, along with Palatinate specialties ranging from Saumagen to Leberknödel and Zwiebelkuchen.
