Over two months of Wintertraum in Brühl

The Wintertraum at Phantasialand is one of the largest winter events in a German theme park — and for many families from the Rhineland and across Germany, it's a fixed date in the pre-Christmas and post-Christmas season. The 2026/2027 edition runs from Saturday, November 14, 2026, to Sunday, January 24, 2027 — over ten weeks of winter atmosphere in the theme park in Brühl.

Opening Hours and Special Regulations

During Wintertraum, Phantasialand is open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM. Some days are excluded or have different hours:

  • December 24 and 25, 2026 (Christmas Eve, 1st Christmas Day): closed
  • December 31, 2026 (New Year's Eve): shortened hours 11 AM – 6 PM
  • January 1, 2027 (New Year's Day): closed
  • January 12 and 13, 2027: closed (maintenance)

Sea of Lights Throughout the Park

The central effect of Wintertraum is the sea of lights: thousands of fairy lights, illuminated fir trees, lit-up themed worlds, and light installations immerse the entire park in a magical atmosphere after dark. Particularly impressive: the Chinese themed world Wuze Town and the Asian Hotel Ling Bao with red lanterns and light arches, as well as the steampunk-inspired world Rookburgh with warm incandescent lights.

Attractions — Over 40 Rides

All classic Phantasialand attractions are also open during Wintertraum (weather permitting). Highlights:

  • Taron — Multi-launch roller coaster with a top speed of 117 km/h
  • Black Mamba — Suspended inverted coaster
  • F.L.Y. — World's first launched flying coaster in Rookburgh
  • Chiapas — The steepest log flume ride in the world
  • Crazy Bats — VR roller coaster
  • Die 3 Mausketiere — New 4D attraction for families
  • Classics like Maus au Chocolat, Mystery Castle, Talocan, River Quest

Winter Shows and Ice Revue

The Wintertraum program includes seasonal ice shows in specially set-up halls — featuring ice skaters, dancers, and elaborate choreography. Additionally, there are themed shows in the park's various worlds: Fantissima as a grand-scale dinner show, as well as smaller show formats like acrobatics, magic, and live music.

Mulled Wine, Chestnuts, Potato Pancakes

Culinary delights at Wintertraum include mulled wine huts, chestnut stands, potato pancake stalls, and winter specialties — in addition to the classic Phantasialand gastronomy with themed restaurants in every area of the park. For longer stays, you can spend the night in one of the three themed hotels: Hotel Ling Bao (Asian), Hotel Matamba (African), and Hotel Charles Lindbergh (Steampunk/Aviation).

Fireworks on New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve (December 31, 2026), the park's opening hours are shortened to 11 AM–6 PM, but traditionally, there's a fireworks display marking the end of the main Wintertraum block. The last Wintertraum weekend (January 23–24, 2027) will also be celebrated with special effects.

Phantasialand — Premium Theme Park in the Rhineland

Phantasialand in Brühl is among Europe's leading theme parks — awarded "Germany's Best Theme Park" by Parkscout audience award in 2024 and 2025. With over 40 attractions, four meticulously designed themed worlds (Berlin, China Town, Mexico, Mystery, Rookburgh, Wuze Town), and three hotels, it's a day-trip destination with overnight options. Wintertraum is a firm fixture in the seasonal calendar and is considered one of the most beautiful winter productions in the German-speaking world.
