About Summertime Lauterbach
Summertime Lauterbach — edition 2026
The program follows the tried-and-tested logic: Saturday evening is the main event with live music, while Sunday is dominated by the morning pint (Frühschoppen) followed by a family lunch and an afternoon wind-down. The exact music lineup will be announced before the event in Lauterbach's community media and on the Village Club's website.

Lauterbach in the Warndt
The district of Lauterbach belongs to the city of Völklingen in the western Regionalverband Saarbrücken, in the so-called Warndt region – a wooded, nature-rich landscape right on the French border. The history of the place is closely linked to mining, which shaped the Warndt for centuries. Today, Lauterbach is a quiet village with active clubs and a lively neighborhood.
The Village Club as Host
The Lauterbacher Dorfverein (Lauterbach Village Club) is one of the central hubs for community life in the village. Several club events per year, its own clubhouse, and a dedicated team of volunteers – very typical of Saarland's club culture. The Summertime is the annual highlight of the summer.
Two Days of Summer Atmosphere
The concept is deliberately manageable:
- Saturday from 5 PM – Kick-off in the afternoon, a relaxed start, food stalls open, first live music in the evening
- Sunday from 11 AM – Morning pint (Frühschoppen), lunch, more music programming into the afternoon
The menu is classic Saarlandic: Schwenker (the quintessential Saarlandic barbecue dish), bratwurst, fries with Lyoner sausage, salads, accompanied by beer from Saarlandic breweries, regional wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. Homemade cakes and coffee on Sunday afternoon are also part of the regular repertoire.
Music from the Region
The musical accompaniment is usually provided by regional artists from the Warndt and neighboring Saarbrücken: acoustic sets, cover bands, occasionally Saarlandic dialect music. A stage of manageable size, an atmosphere that is more living room than concert hall.
A Piece of Warndt Culture
Anyone looking for the authentic Saarland, away from the big festivals and industrial culture magnets like the Völklingen Ironworks, will find a concentrated example of Saarlandic club culture here. Small, honest, warm – and with the self-evidence of a tradition that is lovingly maintained every year.
