The Pfaffenhofen Christmas Market bears the fitting name »Gnome Time and Christmas Magic«. For four weeks, it transforms the festively decorated and illuminated main square in front of the town hall into an atmospheric Christmas world. Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm is the district town of the district of the same name in the state of Bavaria and is known for its spacious historic main square – the ideal backdrop for a Christmas market.
The Gnome on the Main Square
The centerpiece and namesake of the market is the gnome: He moves into his own hut on the main square and distributes hundreds of gifts to children until Christmas Eve. In the adjacent tent, children are invited to craft and bake. A lovingly designed light calendar accompanies the Advent weeks day by day.

For four weeks, the gnome distributes hundreds of gifts from his hut until Christmas Eve; children craft and bake in the adjacent tent. Fireworks and ice sculptures, tower brass players, stilt walkers, and angel singing create Christmas magic in the city center. Opening hours: Mon–Wed 4–9 p.m., Thu–Fri 4–10 p.m., Sat–Sun 12–10 p.m.
