Family festival for music, workshops, and peace culture in Havelland
For eight years, the festival ran under the name Pax Terra Musica. In 2026, it launches as PAX – The World Peace Festival with a new name but an unchanged mission: music, workshops, and lectures are intended to open spaces for peace, encounter, and new societal visions. The festival has established itself in the Brandenburg festival scene as one of the few explicitly political-spiritual formats.
The Friesack open-air stage in the Havelland district is the permanent venue. The old open-air stage from GDR times, lovingly maintained today, offers space for several thousand visitors. Around it: forest, meadows, and a generous camping area.
PAX actively promotes itself as a family festival. Children under 18 are free. On the program: workshops for adults and children, campfire discussions, morning yoga, storytelling circles. The concept relies on a slow festival rhythm – no constant main stage noise, but a transition between stage music and quiet spaces.
Already announced are Arne Schmitt (“The Man at the Piano” – travels the world with his concert grand piano) and Jens Fischer Rodrian (musician, lyricist, civil rights activist, creative director and musician of the Blue Man Group, producer for Konstantin Wecker). The lineup is continuously expanding. In 2026, additional international acts will perform on several stages for the first time.
The festival itself runs from July 23 to 26 – the camping week lasts from July 21 to 28. Those who arrive earlier or stay longer will find a growing range of workshops, yoga sessions, communal meals, and nature experiences around Friesack.
Friesack is located in the west of the state of Brandenburg, in the Havelland district, about 80 km northwest of Berlin. The region is sparsely populated, characterized by river floodplains, meadows, and small villages. PAX consciously uses this tranquility – the festival sees itself as a counter-model to the loud, multi-stage mega-events in the region.
PAX 2026 marks the relaunch of the festival under a changed name. From July 23 to 26, the festival will take place on several stages of the Friesack open-air stage, and the camping week extends from July 21 to 28.
Confirmed artists: Arne Schmitt (traveling pianist) and Jens Fischer Rodrian (musician, formerly Blue Man Group, producer for Konstantin Wecker). More acts will be announced continuously. Several stages, workshops, campfire talks, yoga, and a family program characterize the weekend.
First edition under a new name, Arne Schmitt and Jens Fischer Rodrian confirmed, camping week, free entry for children under 18.
