Haldensleben — District capital of the Börde
Haldensleben is the district capital of the Börde district (AGS 15083), located just under 30 km northwest of Magdeburg in the fertile Magdeburger Börde. A city with over 19,000 inhabitants, a medieval core, a Roland statue in the market square, and a rich club life – good prerequisites for a major city festival. The Altstadtfest has been running since the early 1990s, organized by the city's cultural office in close cooperation with citizens' clubs and initiatives.
Five stages, multicultural program
The concept is clear: five stages will be set up throughout the city center – from the market to the Roland, from Magdeburger Straße to the school and club center. Each stage has a different character: regional bands, stars from the MDR world, folk and pop, Schlager (popular music) and rock, children's program. The program is put together by the city together with clubs and citizen initiatives, which leads to unusual diversity. In addition, there is a long mile of vendors and a flea market, amusement rides for children, snack stands from several cuisines – the city administration describes the festival as a weekend "when as many people from different cultures come together as never before".
33rd edition — August 28-30, 2026
The anniversary edition is firmly scheduled for the end of August 2026. State: Saxony-Anhalt, District: Börde. Travel from Magdeburg by train (line from the main station) or car (A2 exit Wolmirstedt, then B71). Admission is completely free.
Altstadtfest Haldensleben — edition 2026
In 2026, the Altstadtfest is in its 33rd edition and confirms its format as a "Festival by citizens for citizens". Five stages in the city center, multicultural program, vendor mile through Magdeburger Straße. The complete stage program is expected to be published in early August 2026.

- Evening — Opening at the market square with the mayor and Roland statue
- Live music on all five stages

Day 2 — Saturday, August 29, 2026
- Daytime — Vendor mile, flea market, club stands
- Children's stage with interactive activities
- Evening — Headliner concerts on the main market stage
- Parallel — Folk, Schlager, and Rock on the side stages
Day 3 — Sunday, August 30, 2026
- Morning — Family program and Frühschoppen (morning pint)
- Midday — Stage program by regional artists
- Afternoon — Wind-down with cover bands and dance bands

Getting there
By train: RB from Magdeburg Hauptbahnhof to Haldensleben (approx. 30 min), then a 10-min walk to the market square. By car: A2 exit Wolmirstedt, B71 to Haldensleben. Parking garages in the city center; additional parking areas will be signposted on festival weekends.
Admission
Free admission to all stages and market areas.

Large gastronomic offer, regional breweries, food trucks. Sanitary facilities and toilets are signposted. ATMs in the city center.
Families
Own children's stage with interactive activities, amusement rides, and carousels. Strollers and wheelchairs: the city center is partly paved with cobblestones, but the main area is accessible.
