Tollwitz and Bad Dürrenberg

Tollwitz is a district of the spa town Bad Dürrenberg in the southern Saalekreis, located directly on the Saale river. Bad Dürrenberg is known beyond the region for its Gradierwerk (graduation tower) — one of the longest preserved graduation facilities in Germany — and for its brine springs, which earned the town its nickname "Bad" (spa). The Tollwitz district, a typical Saale village with a few hundred inhabitants, maintains its own village tradition.
