Open Courtyards Day on the Untermosel
„Oos Bremm” is more than a wine festival — it is a declaration of love from the village to its own wine culture. For three days, the wine estates of Bremm open their courtyards and cellars, present their current vintages, and invite guests into the everyday life of viticulture. The concept originates from the tradition of South German courtyard festivals, but in Bremm, it has acquired a very unique, Moselle character.
What distinguishes this event from other Moselle wine festivals is the proximity to the winegrowing families. Upon arriving at a courtyard, visitors are often welcomed by the winegrowers themselves, get an insight into the latest harvest, can taste the freshly bottled Riesling from the current vineyard site, and learn firsthand what makes Bremm wine special. The Calmont vineyards — with a slope of up to 65 degrees, the steepest vineyard in Europe — are the connecting element for all participating estates.
Culinary offerings in the courtyards range from winegrower's snacks to tarte flambée and warm dishes of seasonal cuisine. Some courtyards complement their tastings with small guided vertical tastings, others offer play areas for children or live acoustic music in the courtyard. The atmosphere is familial and relaxed — no one rushes you to the next stand, no one advertises with large posters. Those who come immerse themselves in the real Bremm.
The festival glass serves as admission to all participating courtyards and can be purchased at any station. A map in the village center helps with orientation. Since the courtyards are connected by footpaths, the tour can be designed entirely at your own pace.
„Oos Bremm” 2026 will take place from Friday, June 12th, to Sunday, June 14th. The participating courtyards open on Friday in the late afternoon, and on Saturday and Sunday from midday. The tour can be started at any courtyard; an overview map is available in the village center.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
Highlights: Direct encounters with Bremm's winegrowing families, current vintages of Riesling and Pinot Noir from the Calmont vineyards, decentralized concept without a large festival tent, culinary accompaniments in the courtyards, acoustic music at several stations, a quiet, wine-typical atmosphere in the Moselle village at the foot of Europe's steepest vineyard.
Free admission. Festival glass and tasting tokens available at participating courtyards.
Getting there: Via the B49; parking available on the outskirts of the village. By train to Bullay, then continue by bus or passenger boat.
Admission: Free. Festival glass and tasting tokens available at participating courtyards.
Tip: Sturdy footwear recommended for the cobblestone paths. Can be combined with a hike on the Calmont climbing path or a Moselle boat trip.
