A City Centre Full of Delights

Nüsser Genüsse is the annual culinary city festival in Neuss city centre – a delightful, relaxed open-air event aimed at foodies, families, and anyone who wants to spend a balmy summer day with good food, good wine, and good company. The organizer is Neuss Marketing, the city's marketing company.

Date 2026: July 18th/19th, Markt and Freithof

The 2026 edition will take place on Saturday, July 18th, 2026 (11:00 AM – 10:00 PM) and Sunday, July 19th, 2026 (11:00 AM – 10:00 PM). The venue is the central Markt, extending into the Freithof – the traditional festival heart of Neuss in front of the Quirinus Münster and the historic town hall.

Regional Gastronomy on Display

On both days, selected Neuss restaurants, bistros, and cafés will present specialties from their menus. From Rhenish classics to modern fusion cuisine, from vegetarian-vegan to steak, from simple bread-and-wine stalls to small show kitchens: the diversity of the Neuss culinary scene will be experienced compactly in one place. A kind of "city restaurant test" in a summery atmosphere.

Wine, Beer, Regional Manufacturers

The drinks are at least as good as the food. Vintners from the Rhine, Mosel, and Pfalz regions are regularly represented. Local brewers from the Lower Rhine will showcase their beer specialties – including craft beer breweries from the Rhein-Kreis Neuss. Manufacturers offering spirits, liqueurs, aperitifs, and non-alcoholic specialties will complement the offerings.

Atmosphere of the Long Table

At the centre of the festival are long wooden tables on the Markt. Those who have collected food and drinks from the stalls can sit at the open tables – without reservation, without a fixed seat. This uncomplicated "long table" is the ideal setting for summer encounters and conversations with locals and visitors.

Stage Program

Live music accompanies the festival – mostly local acts from the Neuss singer-songwriter, jazz, and acoustic-pop scene. Not a festival lineup, but rather background atmosphere that characterises the city festival.

During the 2026 LAGA Season

Nüsser Genüsse 2026 takes place in the middle of the State Garden Show season. Those who are in Neuss on the weekend of July 18th/19th anyway (for the LAGA, for the Festival of Cultures on July 11th, for the Classical Night on June 26th) will find a perfect culinary conclusion to a summer short trip here.

Neuss as a City of Delights on the Lower Rhine

In recent years, the city of Neuss has significantly enhanced its culinary profile – with the Feierabendmarkt (after-work market), with street food events, and with the upgrading of its city centre gastronomy. Nüsser Genüsse is the central summer city festival reflecting this development. In the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, the city, as a location for the port, city centre restaurants, and the gastronomic diversity around the Markt, offers a special culinary density.
