Stage for Young Media Talents
The Neubrandenburg Youth Media Festival is a state-wide festival for young media makers from all over Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Organised by the association Latücht Film & Medien e.V., it offers children and young people aged 5 to 25 a professional stage for their films and audio productions. The venue is the Kino Latücht in Neubrandenburg.
Three State-wide Competitions
The heart of the festival is the public awards ceremony in three categories:
- Youth Video Competition M-V
- School Video Competition »Video macht Schule«
- Youth Radio Competition »Freisprecher«
Documentaries, feature films, animations, music videos, radio plays, radio reports, and podcasts are shown – a cross-section of the media work of young people throughout the state.
Workshops and Festival Programme
Beyond the three days, the Youth Media Festival offers a supporting programme with workshops where participants can deepen their media literacy. Evening screenings of exciting films and a festive awards ceremony with an after-party and live music round off the festival.
Neubrandenburg and Kino Latücht
The Kino Latücht on Große Krauthöfer Straße is an independent art-house cinema and also home to the organising association, which also hosts the dokumentART festival. Neubrandenburg is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Youth Media Festival — edition 2026
From June 10th to 12th, 2026, Kino Latücht in Neubrandenburg invites you to the 31st edition of the Youth Media Festival. Children and young people from all over Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will showcase their documentary and feature films, animations, music videos, radio plays, radio reports, and podcasts.
The highlight is the public awards ceremony in the three competitions: Youth Video Competition M-V, School Video Competition »Video macht Schule«, and Youth Radio Competition »Freisprecher«.

The Kino Latücht is located in Neubrandenburg's city centre, within walking distance of the main train station. Arrive by car via the A20 motorway.
