Two-day music festival by the Musikverein Vaihingen with an Open Day at the MVV Pavilion
With around 29,000 inhabitants, Vaihingen an der Enz is one of the larger medium-sized towns in the Ludwigsburg district (state of Baden-Württemberg), located between Stuttgart and Pforzheim on the Enz river. The Musikverein Vaihingen/Enz e.V. is one of the city's most active cultural associations and operates its own clubhouse at Köszegerplatz, the MVV Pavilion — a wooden pavilion building with an adjacent festival area, which is upgraded once a year for the MVV Festival.
The MVV Festival combines two concepts: a classic summer music festival with brass music, catering, and a stage program on Saturday, and an Open Day on Sunday, where the association presents its rehearsal rooms, sheet music archive, and activities to the public. This is a deliberately accessible format designed primarily to facilitate entry into band music for families with musically interested children and potential club members.
Over the two festival days, the main band of the MVV Vaihingen plays first, supplemented by friendly music associations from the Ludwigsburg district and the Stuttgart region. Sunday focuses on the youth band — an important program item, as youth work is the heart of the association.
At the association's stands, you'll find classic festival fare: Swabian Maultaschen, Bratwurst, Schnitzel with potato salad, chicken, fries, and cake on Sunday afternoon. This is accompanied by draft beer, Württemberger wine from the nearby Stromberg region, Apfelschorle (apple spritzer), and coffee. The catering is handled voluntarily by the association members and friendly clubs.
The MVV Festival 2026 opens on Saturday, June 13, in the late afternoon with the inauguration at the MVV Pavilion. The main band of the Musikverein Vaihingen/Enz will kick things off, followed by friendly music associations from the Ludwigsburg district in the evening. Catering with Swabian specialties accompanies the stage program.
Sunday, June 14, is dedicated to the morning pint (Frühschoppen) with brass music, a midday meal, an afternoon performance by the Vaihingen youth band, and the Open Day in the pavilion — rehearsal rooms, sheet music archive, and club life accessible to visitors, with opportunities for trial performances for young musicians.
Free admission. Food and drinks at the association's stands at festival prices. Proceeds go to the club's activities and youth education of the Musikverein Vaihingen/Enz.
Vaihingen an der Enz is located on the A 8 motorway (exit Pforzheim-Ost or Stuttgart-Vaihingen). By train: Vaihingen (Enz) station on the high-speed line Stuttgart–Karlsruhe–Mannheim (IC/ICE stop) and on the S-Bahn to Stuttgart. From the station, it's about a 15-minute walk to the MVV Pavilion or take a city bus.
