Musikfreunde Leck Concert Series

A Concert Series with Tradition

Musikfreunde in Leck und Umgebung e.V. was founded in 1993 and has since dedicated itself to bringing high-quality classical chamber music to the north of North Frisia. With over 240 concerts to date and a loyal core audience, the association is among the organizers supported by the German Music Council. The venue is the Rathaus-Saal Leck on Marktstraße — an intimate concert setting where the relationship between musicians and the audience is particularly direct.

2026 Season: Three Concerts

The 2026 season focuses clearly on three areas:

• February 22, 2026 — «Young Talents 2026»: Prize winners of the Stähler-Stade competition and students from the Lübeck University of Music present chamber and solo programs.
• March 22, 2026 — «German Romanticism»: The Duo Haffner-Heise (Cello & Piano) performs works by Schumann, Brahms, and their contemporaries.
• April 26, 2026 — Reed Song Trio Ariadne: Three scholarship holders from the German Music Competition (Oboe, Horn, Piano) combine works by Bruch, Klughardt, and Schumann with readings from Nikolaus Lenau's «Schilflieder» (Reed Songs).

Programmatic Line

The programs of the Musikfreunde are never arbitrary. The Young Talents series brings emerging artists to the stage — Lübeck's University of Music is not far away and regularly supplies the series with prize winners. The Romanticism concerts perform core repertoire, from Schumann to Brahms. And thematic concerts like the Reed Song Trio combine music and literature into a holistic experience.

A Cultural Resource for North Frisia

In the sparsely populated district of Nordfriesland in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the Musikfreunde Leck concert series is an important anchor for classical music. It complements the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, which fills large halls in the cities, by offering intimate chamber music in rural areas.
