Sustainable, inclusive community festival in the historic Amtsgarten of Lilienthal
The Amtsgarten in Lilienthal is a historic park in the center of the municipality, featuring old trees and a garden layout crisscrossed by walking paths. During the festival weekend, the park opens up as an open festival area – a venue that creates a special atmosphere through its natural beauty. Unlike urban city center festivals, the Lilienfestival benefits from the green character of its location.
Three core values shape the festival: Sustainability (regional products, ecological logistics, reusable systems), Inclusion (accessibility, multilingual information, low-threshold participation), and Sociability (open meeting spaces, hands-on activities, celebrating together). This triad distinguishes the festival from many traditional community festivals and makes it a consciously designed format for community building.
Numerous local clubs and initiatives participate in workshops, offer stalls, and provide catering. Regional musicians perform on stage. Hands-on activities, craft offerings, sports stations, and cultural contributions create a diverse program that appeals to the residents of Lilienthal – and guests from neighboring Bremen and the Wümme region – in various ways.
The festival opens on Friday evening, Saturday features the main program with stage music and workshops, and Sunday is Family Day with hands-on activities.
The program is significantly shaped by the local landscape of clubs and initiatives, which gives the festival its special character as a community celebration.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years: sustainability, inclusion, broad participation of clubs, music, workshops, and encounters in the Amtsgarten.
