Cross-genre Whitsun festival at the Baltic Sea resort
»Musik, Kunst & Mee(h)r« is the cross-genre Whitsun festival of the Baltic Sea resort Warnemünde. For over ten years, it has brought music and visual arts directly to the beach and promenade — musicians play in front of sculptures, painters and sculptors present works in public spaces.
The focus is on open-air concerts with well-known figures from the Warnemünde rock scene — Olaf Hobrlant, Klaus Lass, Jack Hänsel, Lutz Dammann, Ola Van Sander, or Anne M. — who rearrange classics by Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Neil Young, or Joe Cocker in the Warnemünde sound. In addition, there is an art market format on Alexandrinenstraße, free concerts in the Kurhaus garden (Meeresbrise series), and piano concerts in the Kurhaus's banquet hall. A rock format »20 Miles – Leuchtfeuer trifft Kulturmeer« was added in 2025.
The festival is now a firm fixture of the Whitsun days in Warnemünde, along with the maritime »Möwen Suite« and the Kurhaus season opening. The organizer is the Rostock and Warnemünde Tourism Center in cooperation with local artist associations. Most concerts are free to attend; only programs in the Kurhaus banquet hall require tickets.
Whitsun weekend 2026 in Warnemünde is once again dedicated to music, visual arts, and the sea. From May 22 to 26, the Rostock and Warnemünde Tourism Center is organizing a distributed open-air format: on Whit Friday, an art market featuring works by regional artists opens on Alexandrinenstraße; on Whit Saturday, Nikolai Denisov performs his piano program »Mit meinem Klavier um die Welt« (With My Piano Around the World) in the banquet hall of the Kurhaus Warnemünde; on Whit Sunday and Monday, open-air concerts and sculpture exhibitions at the Kurhaus garden and on the promenade complete the program. Thus, the 2026 festival coincides with the Rostock Whitsun Market in the Stadthafen and the start of the Meeresbrise series in the Kurhaus garden.
Open-air concerts and art market are free. Piano recital in the Kurhaus Warnemünde banquet hall requires tickets (advance booking via Kurhaus Warnemünde).
S-Bahn S1/S3 to Warnemünde, then a few minutes' walk to the promenade.
Open-air concerts in the Kurhaus garden and on Alexandrinenstraße are free. Concerts in the Kurhaus banquet hall (e.g., piano recitals) require tickets.
