Sunday Concerts in the Kurhausgarten Warnemünde
The "Meeresbrise" is the Sunday concert series held in the historic Kurhausgarten of Warnemünde. An open-air stage was established in 2021 directly between the Kurhaus, promenade, and the Baltic Sea beach, offering a wide musical spectrum – from big bands and brass orchestras to singer-songwriters, swing combos, rockabilly, and country.
From May to September, the series features concerts every Sunday and on public holidays on the stage in the Kurhausgarten. The concerts run from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM and are free to attend. The stylistic range includes Swing, Jazz, and Big Band, through Pop, Indie, Soul, and Singer-Songwriter, to Schlager, Country, Rockabilly, and Brass Music. Approximately 20 to 23 concerts are scheduled per season; the series traditionally concludes with a Country concert at the end of September. The audience sits casually on provided seating, blankets, or in beach chairs.
The organiser is the Rostock and Warnemünde Tourism Centre. The series complements the maritime event programme of the Baltic Sea resort, alongside the Hanse Sail, Warnemünder Woche, and Port Party. The Kurhausgarten, framed by the Kurhaus built in 1928 and the Teepott, is one of the most traditional venues in the seaside resort – ideal for relaxed Sunday afternoons with live music and sea views.
From May 1st to September 27th, 2026, the sixth edition of the "Meeresbrise" Sunday concerts will take place in the Kurhausgarten Warnemünde. A total of 23 afternoon concerts are scheduled – including on public holidays such as Whit Monday and German Unity Day. The Rostock and Warnemünde Tourism Centre has programmed a deliberately broad selection so that holiday guests and locals can experience something different each Sunday: Pop, Jazz, Funk, Boogie, Blues, Soul, Indie, Brass Music, Acoustic. The season traditionally concludes with a Country concert in September.
The complete season overview with all 23 concerts will be published by the Rostock and Warnemünde Tourism Centre in Spring 2026. Each concert starts at 3:30 PM and ends around 5:30 PM.
All 23 concerts are free. There are no reservations and no fixed seats – blankets and beach chairs are allowed.
Take the S-Bahn S1/S3 to Warnemünde, then a few minutes' walk to the promenade. By car, use the car parks at Alter Strom or at the train station.
All Meeresbrise concerts are free. No registration is required. Blankets, beach chairs, and picnics are explicitly permitted.
In case of stormy weather or heavy rain, a concert may be moved to the Banketsaal of the Kurhaus or cancelled at short notice.
