Profile
The "Meeresbrise" is the Sunday concert series held in the historic Kurhausgarten of Warnemünde. An open-air stage was established in 2021 directly between the Kurhaus, promenade, and the Baltic Sea beach, offering a wide musical spectrum – from big bands and brass orchestras to singer-songwriters, swing combos, rockabilly, and country.
Programming
From May to September, the series features concerts every Sunday and on public holidays on the stage in the Kurhausgarten. The concerts run from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM and are free to attend. The stylistic range includes Swing, Jazz, and Big Band, through Pop, Indie, Soul, and Singer-Songwriter, to Schlager, Country, Rockabilly, and Brass Music. Approximately 20 to 23 concerts are scheduled per season; the series traditionally concludes with a Country concert at the end of September. The audience sits casually on provided seating, blankets, or in beach chairs.
Local Context
The organiser is the Rostock and Warnemünde Tourism Centre. The series complements the maritime event programme of the Baltic Sea resort, alongside the Hanse Sail, Warnemünder Woche, and Port Party. The Kurhausgarten, framed by the Kurhaus built in 1928 and the Teepott, is one of the most traditional venues in the seaside resort – ideal for relaxed Sunday afternoons with live music and sea views.
