Colourful market for environment and sustainable lifestyle in Wolfenbüttel city centre
For several years, the Wolfenbüttel Environmental Market has been a permanent fixture in the city calendar, showcasing the diversity of sustainable initiatives. On the central city market square – just a few steps from the town hall and castle – exhibitors gather to present their products and concepts, demonstrating how environmental protection can be practically implemented in everyday life.
The thematic spectrum ranges from renewable energies and energy-efficient building renovation to climate-friendly mobility, organic food, and fair textiles, as well as recycling concepts and zero-waste solutions. Many stalls offer hands-on activities, advisory services, and tastings. Families will find environmental education activities, and children can playfully discover nature and its protection at interactive stations.
Parallel to the market day, an extensive workshop and lecture program takes place around the event at the Wissensort Wolfenbüttel (WOW), delving deeper into the topics and outlining concrete courses of action. This makes WUM the kick-off for a two-week action phase, bringing politics, business, education, and civil society into a productive dialogue.
