20th edition in the Olympic Park — Munich's Spring Run
The Munich Half Marathon has been a firm fixture in the Bavarian running calendar since 2007 and celebrates its 20th edition on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The start and finish area are located in the Munich Olympic Park — the iconic venue of the 1972 Summer Games, which offers a unique running backdrop with its tent roof by Frei Otto, the Olympic Hill, and the Olympic Lake. The event traditionally marks the sporting start of spring for Bavaria's state capital.
The 2026 program includes three competitions: the 21.1 km Half Marathon for ambitious distance runners, the 10 km main race as a popular middle-distance classic, and the 5 km Fun Run as a family-friendly introductory distance. The courses lead through the Olympic Park, past the Olympic Tower, the Olympic Stadium, and the Olympic Lake — a scenically and architecturally extraordinary combination in the north of Munich.
The Munich Half Marathon is organized by Active Concepts, led by Dr. Alexander Fricke (Rat-Jung-Str. 16, 82340 Feldafing). The organizer specializes in high-quality running events in the Munich area and also hosts other races in the greater region. Online registration is handled through the platform 3muc.de — also operated by the organizer. Results, certificates, finish line videos, and a photo portal are available to participants after the race.
