Two open-air evenings in the MüGa-Park — Electronic Friday and Rock Saturday
When the Ruhr lies in the heat of midsummer between Schloss Broich and the city center in August, the MüGa-Park transforms into one of the most beautiful open-air concert backdrops in the Ruhr area. On August 7th and 8th, 2026, the Mülheim Summer Open Air invites you to two evenings with two different musical worlds.
Friday is all about electronic music. The headliner is Topic — the German DJ and producer who has garnered millions of streams with tracks like 'Breaking Me' (with A7S) and is one of the most sought-after acts in Germany's electronic scene. Alongside him are LARI LUKE, YouNotUs (a DJ trio with numerous chart hits), and Frank Zappel Klemans. Doors open at 5:00 PM, concert starts in the early evening.
Saturday focuses on country rock and pure energy. The BossHoss — the Berlin-based country-rock sensation that has been packing halls for two decades with cowboy hats, electric guitars, and sweat — brings their hit setlist to Mülheim. Support act: Rebel Tell. Doors open at 6:00 PM.
The MüGa-Park (Mülheim Garden Show grounds, Am Schloß Broich 28) has been a central green space in Mülheim since the 1992 Federal Garden Show. With the medieval Schloss Broich as a backdrop and the Ruhr riverbank behind it, it offers a rare mix of history, nature, and city. A main stage will be set up for the Summer Open Air, with food trucks, cocktail bars, and ample lounge areas.
The independent city of Mülheim an der Ruhr is located between Duisburg and Essen at the Rhine-Ruhr transport hub. With around 171,000 inhabitants, it is one of the smaller major cities in the Ruhr area but is strongly connected economically (headquarters of the Aldi Süd group) and culturally. Besides the Theater an der Ruhr, the MüGa-Park is a central cultural venue in the city.
According to the city marketing, the first ticket contingents were almost sold out even before the summer of 2026. Three price levels were offered: Daylight €39 (available until June 30th), Sunset €44, Night-Owl €49. Advance sales via Reservix (mst-muelheim.reservix.de).
The Summer Open Air 2026 features two stylistically distinct evenings. Friday becomes Electronic Friday with house and dance hits from the German charts. Saturday is dedicated to US country-rock made in Berlin (The BossHoss). Tickets are available in three tiers and were in high demand early on.
Daylight €39 (Advance sales until June 30th, 2026), Sunset €44, Night-Owl €49. Advance sales via mst-muelheim.reservix.de. In high demand.
By train: ICE/IC to Mülheim (Ruhr) Hbf, then take line U18 or walk approx. 20 minutes to MüGa-Park. By car: A40, exit Mülheim-Heißen, then follow signs. Parking: Limited in the surrounding area, therefore public transport is recommended.
