Traditional Motorcycle Meet in the Fichtelgebirge Foothills
MSC Frankenpfalz e.V. was founded in the early 1980s in Kirchenpingarten, a community of just under 600 inhabitants in the Bayreuth district. In 2024, the club celebrated the 40th anniversary of its motorcycle meet – a testament to the enduring appeal of the event. The meet traditionally takes place on the second weekend of July at the clubhouse on Tressauer Straße.
The meet typically runs from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. Camping is available directly on the club grounds – many participants arrive on Friday evening with tents and sleeping bags, some stay the whole weekend. A marquee tent with live music forms the centrepiece; the grill and bar provide the culinary biker fare: steaks, sausages, currywurst, and draft beer.
The music programme is booked anew each year – usually rock and cover bands from the Franconian region, who provide the atmosphere in the tent. A highlight for many meets are the guided rides through the Fichtelgebirge foothills and Franconian Switzerland: routes with winding asphalt, small sights, and gastronomic stops for lunch. Some meets add to the fun with competitions (skill riding, slow race) or a show.
Kirchenpingarten lies at the transition from the Steinwald to the Fichtelgebirge, a wooded low mountain range landscape with excellent motorcycle routes. Outside of the meets, the club scene gathers every Wednesday from 8:00 PM at the clubhouse – an open meeting point for bikers from Bayreuth, Weiden, Bamberg, and Hof. The summer meet elevates this scene to the next level.
For the 2026 edition, MSC Frankenpfalz is once again planning its summer meet on the second weekend of July. It kicks off on Friday evening with arrivals, campsite setup, and the first bar service. Saturday is the main festival day with the marquee opening, barbecue, live rock music in the evening, and possibly a guided ride in the afternoon. Sunday concludes the meet with morning drinks, lunch, and departures. The exact band lineup and programme will be announced soon on the MSC website and Facebook.
The exact dates, band lineups, and programme items will be published by MSC Frankenpfalz shortly before the meet on msc-frankenpfalz.de and via Facebook.
