Mosbach Christmas Market — Advent Romance in a Half-Timbered Setting

The Mosbach Christmas Market is one of the most beautiful and longest-running Christmas markets in Baden-Württemberg. 24 days of Advent romance in the heart of one of Southern Germany's best-preserved half-timbered old towns — this is the concept that draws thousands of visitors year after year to the Neckar-Odenwald district. The market is organized by the City of Mosbach, Cultural Department.

Mosbach Old Town — The Market's Stage

The Old Town of Mosbach is worthy of UNESCO World Heritage status (even if not officially listed): Over 100 carefully restored half-timbered houses from the 14th to 17th centuries line the alleys — including the famous "Palmschen Haus" on the market square, often described as the most beautiful half-timbered house in Germany. During the Christmas market, Advent stalls are spread throughout the old town — the market square with the giant decorated Christmas tree, the main street, Hospitalstraße, and the side alleys. Festive lighting, fairy lights, decorations, and the typical market aroma transform the historic city into an Advent landscape.

Program — Stalls, Food & Drink, Music

Dozens of decorated stalls are set up at the market:
• Food & Drink — Mulled wine, children's punch, gingerbread, roasted almonds, crêpes, Maultaschen, Bratwurst, Schupfnudeln, Swabian classics
• Handicrafts — Wood carvings, jewelry, candles, wooden decorations, wool products
• Advent Decorations — Nativity scenes, stars, fairy lights, Advent wreaths
• Music — Brass bands, choirs, trombone chorales from Mosbach churches

Open daily 11 am–8 pm, food and drink until 9 pm. Advent Shopping Night on December 12, extended opening on December 5 and 19 (shops until 6 pm).

Mosbach and the Neckar-Odenwald District

Mosbach (district capital of the Neckar-Odenwald district, AGS 08225, around 24,000 inhabitants) is located on the Neckar river between Heidelberg and Heilbronn. The former Free Imperial City is now one of the most important medium-sized towns in the Neckar-Odenwald region. With its half-timbered old town and long Advent tradition, Mosbach is considered one of the most beautiful travel destinations in Baden-Württemberg during the Advent season.
