Moerser City-Trödel — four Sundays, the entire city centre
Moers Marketing GmbH is launching a new flea market series in Moers city centre in 2026 — aiming to be one of the largest and most beautiful flea market series in the Lower Rhine region. Four Sunday dates, each from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, are spread throughout the year. More than 300 stalls extend from Kastellplatz through the Altstadt to Steinstraße — the city centre's most important shopping street.
The four dates in 2026
- Sunday, March 22, 2026 — Season opener
- Sunday, May 10, 2026 — Spring flea market
- Sunday, July 5, 2026 — Summer flea market

What makes the City-Trödel special
The concept relies on a few proven success factors:
- City centre location — no flea market on the outskirts, but right in the pedestrian zone
- Over 300 stalls — one of the largest concentrations in the Lower Rhine region
- Variety of goods: second-hand clothing, antiques, electronics, collectibles, records, books, toys, house clearances
- 5 free stalls for regional non-profits — charitable organisations receive free stalls as a social aspect
- City centre stroll included: Shops and cafés are often open on these Sundays with extended shopping hours
Exhibitor applications — Lottery system
Due to high demand, stalls are allocated by lottery. Registration in two two-week application windows:
- May 11–24, 2026 — Application for July and September dates
- July 6–19, 2026 — Alternative application period
Standard size: 3 metres. Stall fee: €37 per stall. 5 free stalls are reserved for regional charitable organisations. Contact: Isabelle Boßer, [email protected], Tel. +49 2841 88226-14.
Sustainability as a subtext
Flea markets are social events — and at the same time a practical contribution to the circular economy. Used clothing, old records, furniture, and collectibles find new owners instead of ending up in household waste. Moers Marketing GmbH sees the City-Trödel as a contribution to sustainable city centre revitalisation.
Moers on the Lower Rhine
Moers is the largest city in the Lower Rhine region west of the Rhine (part of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss district, specifically Kreis Wesel), with over 100,000 inhabitants. The Altstadt around the historic castle complex and Kastellplatz forms the centre — compact, walkable, with its own atmosphere. The city is known for the annual Moers Festival (Jazz, May/June) and is considered a well-functioning mid-sized city in the Lower Rhine region between Duisburg and Krefeld.
