Spring Market of the Lower Rhine Art Scene

The Moers Art Spring is a young format by the Moers Cultural Office in cooperation with Sparkasse am Niederrhein – a two-day spring market that showcases the region's art and craft scene in an easily accessible, free-of-charge setting. 2026 marks the fifth edition.

Date, Location, and Opening Hours

Dates: Saturday, April 18th and Sunday, April 19th, 2026, from 11 am to 5 pm daily. The venue is Sparkasse am Niederrhein, Ostring 4-7, 47441 Moers – right in the center of Moers, within walking distance of the old town and the train station. The spacious rooms and counter halls of the Sparkasse will be transformed into temporary exhibition and workshop spaces.

Artists and Arts and Crafts

The market features regional artists and craftspeople from the Lower Rhine. The spectrum ranges from painting and printmaking to ceramics, jewelry, and textile works, as well as sculpture, glass art, and photo editions. All pieces can be purchased directly from the studio – no gallery markup, direct contact with the creators.

Hands-on Workshops – The Heart of the Festival

What makes the Moers Art Spring special: the open hands-on workshops. Visitors can try their hand at various creative activities:

• Tetra Pak Printing – Recycling printmaking
• Earring Workshop – Jewelry making
• Stamp Printing on textiles and paper
• Flower Crown Workshop – Weaving spring wreaths
• Pottery – with registration

Some workshops are open drop-in, others require prior registration with the Cultural Office. Material costs may apply on-site.

Moers and its Lower Rhine Cultural Profile

Moers is located west of the Rhine in the Wesel district, has around 103,000 inhabitants, and is known for its international Moers Festival (Jazz, Pentecost) and the historic Moers Old Town with its castle. The Art Spring follows this tradition, offering a low-threshold counterpart to the jazz-oriented main festival.
