Queer Demo and Party Evening on the Lower Rhine
For years, CSD Moers has been the central Christopher Street Day event in the Wesel district and the northern Lower Rhine. Organized by the association SLaM & Friends Moers, it combines classic CSD elements — political demonstration, rallies, queer symbolism — with a lively evening program at Moers' Bollwerk 107. The date for 2026 will be announced via the official channels of SLaM & Friends (usually between July and August).
Classic schedule: The demonstration starts at the Königlicher Hof — the traditional meeting point for the Moers queer community. From there, the demo procession moves through the Moers city center, with intermediate rallies at the town hall and a final rally at Bollwerk 107, the well-known event location within the historic Moers ramparts.
After the political demo, Bollwerk 107 transforms into the region's queer party zone:
The atmosphere is regularly described in the local press as "warm-hearted, diverse, and strongly geared towards partying." Free admission, all people are welcome.
Moers, with around 103,000 inhabitants, is the largest city in the Wesel district in North Rhine-Westphalia and is located on the Lower Rhine west of Duisburg. The city is primarily known for the Moers Festival (Jazz, Pentecost) and the Comedy Arts Festival. With the CSD, the city further positions itself as an important center for queer visibility on the Lower Rhine — embedded in the CSD network of Duisburg, Oberhausen, and Düsseldorf.
The association SLaM & Friends Moers has been supporting the city's queer infrastructure for years: regular meetups, counseling services, cultural events, and of course, the annual CSD. The volunteer-based structure ensures that admission remains free and the atmosphere is family-friendly.
A proven CSD day with a demonstration from Königlicher Hof to Bollwerk 107, followed by a party evening. The exact program details for 2026 — bands, DJs, speeches — will be communicated by the organizer SLaM & Friends Moers shortly before the date.
