Family-friendly medieval market in Havelland at Begegnungshof Krielow
The Begegnungshof in Krielow is located in the municipality of Groß Kreutz (Havel) in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district, a few kilometers west of Potsdam. The former four-sided farm ensemble has been a venue with its own unique character for years: small, curated markets, family formats, campfires, and cultural evenings shape the annual calendar. The medieval market in spring is one of the farm's most popular formats.
The program combines classic medieval market elements with family-friendly attractions: archery for children and adults, a treasure hunt across the farm grounds, improvisation theatre between the market stalls, live music in medieval styles, and a fire show as the evening highlight. A special performance, "Saaremaa — through times and worlds," guides the audience through various historical eras.
Specially for the younger guests, there are pony rides, a bouncy castle, and hands-on workshops. The tavern provides food and drinks — from lard bread and soups to mead and elderflower cordial. Those who arrive in costume receive free admission — an invitation that draws numerous visitors in costume to the festival grounds every year.
Admission is deliberately kept affordable: €3 for adults, €2 for children, €5 for a 2-day pass, and €8 for the family ticket. Costumed guests have free admission. Opening hours are Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
