About Goho-Kärwa
Goho-Kärwa — edition 2026
The 2026 edition runs from May 29 to June 2 around the Dreieinigkeitskirche and Glockendonstraße in Nuremberg-Gostenhof. Like the approximately 40 Nuremberg neighborhood Kirchweihen, the Goho-Kärwa follows the Franconian Kirchweih tradition with bratwurst, beer, and conviviality — but here with the musical touch typical of Gostenhof: rock and blues dominate the stage program. A special feature remains the organization by the church community itself, which gives the festival its community-oriented, volunteer-driven character. The specific band lineup and detailed program for 2026 will be announced by the organizer in advance.

Kirchweih in the Trendy District
Gostenhof — affectionately called »Goho« by Nuremberg locals — is considered one of the liveliest and most colorful districts in the city. Here, the neighborhood Kirchweih has a very unique character: as a Rock and Blues Kirchweih, it combines Franconian Kirchweih customs with the musical identity of the quarter. Celebrations take place around the Dreieinigkeitskirche and Glockendonstraße.
A Special Case Among Nuremberg's Kärwas
Nuremberg has around 40 neighborhood Kirchweihen, typically held from the end of April to the end of September — each with its very own character, shaped by the respective district. The Goho-Kärwa holds a special position: it is the only major Nuremberg neighborhood Kirchweih organized entirely by the church community itself. This makes it a particularly community-oriented festival, driven by volunteer engagement.
Bratwurst, Beer, and Live Music
As with any true Franconian Kärwa, bratwurst, Franconian beer, and good company are naturally part of it. What makes Gostenhof special is its musical focus: rock and blues dominate the stage program and perfectly match the district's hip atmosphere. Thus, the Kirchweih becomes a meeting point for neighbors, families, and music fans alike.
Kickoff to the Nuremberg Kirchweih Season
The Goho-Kärwa often marks the kickoff to the Nuremberg Kirchweih season, drawing attention beyond the district. With its blend of tradition, volunteerism, and urban lifestyle, it is a flagship example of how diverse Franconian Kirchweih culture can be.
