Every year in midsummer, the Mettlach Summer Market transforms the marketplace in the center of Mettlach into an atmospheric stroll market. Between the Saarschleife and the Villeroy & Boch ensemble, regional and supra-regional exhibitors present fashion, jewelry, leather goods, home accessories, and practical household items — embedded in the tourist heart of the Saarschleifenland.

The Mettlach Summer Market 2026 will take place on the weekend of August 1 and 2 on Mettlach's market square. Saturday 10 AM–6 PM, Sunday 11 AM–6 PM, free admission. Exhibitors present fashion, leather goods, jewelry, household items, and decorative ideas for summer and garden.

As every year, Saarschleife Touristik GmbH invites you to the summer stroll market in Mettlach on the first weekend of August 2026. The stalls are spread out between the market square, the abbey fountain, and the shady alleys around the Villeroy & Boch ensemble. Those looking for a short break will find Saarlandic and French cuisine in nearby cafés and restaurants within walking distance.

Getting There

Mettlach is located in the Merzig-Wadern district, about 40 km northwest of Saarbrücken. By car via the B51 or the A8 (exit Merzig). Mettlach train station is served hourly from Saarbrücken via Merzig — the station is a 10-minute walk to the market square.

Parking

Parking is available around the market square and at the Villeroy & Boch outlet. It can get crowded on market days, so arriving early is recommended.
